Hi, my neighbor is actually my cousin, Beto. I asked him what kind of internet do you have? He said Time Warner Cable (I have the same thing). My other cousin Emmanuel came to my house with his laptop and I gave him the password so that he can use internet while he was visiting. Apparently Emmanuel sold the computer to Beto, I don't mind he uses my internet and be open about it, I mean as long as he pays a little bit its ok. How can I block him? (if there is anyway)....this is really getting annoying...plz help!!

  1. Go to control panel and set up a password and put up a fire wall. If you already have a password change it. When you set up a password no one can log unto your computer. And make sure you turn off your guest account.

  2. Couple options,

You could add WEP or WPA security so you would have to enter in a password when you want to connect to your wireless network

If you really wanted to lock it down you could turn on mac filtering which would only allow specific computers you enter in the router to work on the network.

  3. There are at least 4 ways, but changing that password that you gave Emmauel is the easiest.

  4. If you mean, your cousin's digging into your network and using your network bandwidth, then just get on to your router administrator panel (your ISP should be able to tell you how) and set a password to secure the network. That means, of course, you'll have to set up everything in YOUR house, that connects to it, to sign in, at least once, with that password (then set those things up to "remember" the password). But that also means Beto would have to know the password, which of course, you wouldn't give Beto.

  5. You can set your router up so that it will not broadcast a signal outside your network. Look in the instructions or check the website to see how to do this. Also, change your password. If someone needs to use your network in the future be sure that you log them in and out yourself and keep your password secret.

  6. change the password..

  7. change the password on the router...... so that he couldnt get in..... or unplug the router or remove the antennas on the router...point them away from him.....

  8. Change the password and keep it to yourself.  Trust ends where the internet begins.  The Sage

  9. change your password
