Question:

Neighbor's outdoor cats uses our yard as a kitty litter box! How do we get them to stop?

It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it STINKS for one, and for two our dog can smell it out like no other and EATS IT! It completely reeks her breath for freaking HOURS! It's so disgusting and our neighbot lets them (there are 2) wander wherever they want. And of course they are using our yard as their kitty litter box. Our dog before now used to eat their p**p to and would usually get coccidia (they aren't healthy cats) and have to go to the vet (which cost us a lot of money)! Any suggestions on how to "repel" them or get them to stop? Should I call animal control? I am to the point where it's driving me insane.

Hope this helps you out.  If you try any just be sure it is safe for your dog.

  2. Ooooh, I hate cats and dogs that stray into our yards and I hate it when my dogs eat cat p**p!

Besides letting your dog out for yard guard duty, how about using a water hose or timed sprinkler?  Cats hate getting wet.

They also hate walking on rough surfaces. If you have chicken wire to spare place that down in the areas the cats like to p**p on.

You could also pick up the turds and throw them into your neighbor's yard when they aren't looking.  It's childish but it may get the point across.

  3. Teach yours dog to kill - especially cats. Buy your self a bb gun.

  4. do you ever leave your dog out for extended periods? If the dog doesn't like cats, let him out when he sees your neighbors cats and let him chase them off the property. After this happening for a while, the cats will stop coming over.

  5. Thank you for posting this, there are people who post a question regarding what to do about neighbors that spray cat repellents. How they feel upset that there cat can't even walk around. This is the reason why! It's good to see the other point of view.

Tell those neighbors of yours to watch there cats. If not they sell sprays that cats don't like and they tend to stay away from. I've also heard of people installing some kind of plug in systems that make frequencies that only cats can hear. Also try hosing the cats down. If you see them turn the hose on them! But talk to your neighbors first.

  6. Go tell your neighbors to make the cats stop going in your yard. You can also yell at the cats when they come in your yard
