Question:

Neighbor keeps hitting my car with a basketball?

I have a 2007 Mustang GT/CS which I payed over $30,000 for and my neighbors kids continuously keep hitting it with their basketball while planning out in there driveway. I've talked to the parents numerous times about getting rid of it, moving it, or doing anything to prevent this from happening over and over again, and nothing is ever done. They haven't done any damage to the car yet but it pisses me off that this keeps happening and that eventually damage will occur. What can I do to prevent this. Can I make a police report everytime it happens even though theres no damage, just to document it?

  1. Call your insurance company.

Find out what you would need to stick them with the cost of a paint-job.

Then let the parents know that if anything ever happens, you will ensure they end up being financially responsible for it.

  2. Keep the ball

  3. If you talked to them and asked them to please talk to their kids to stop doing that.. after all it's the parents who are responsible for their children.. and it was fruitless and they keep doing it you should contact a special department at the police that deals just with such complaints.. then they should send a letter to that family and tell them they have been warned and to please see to it that this behaviour is stopped .. if they still won't stop contact the same police department again.. then they could be sued for damages if the car gets damaged. If the car is not in the street but in your driveway they have no right to throw the ball.. accidents can happen but that would happen once and be forgivable but they do it on purpose.. get in touch with the police and ask which department is in charge of dealing with this kind of complaint.. or file a complaint and send it to the police about this behaviour then they have to act upon it.. first with a warning and if this still doesn't stop with sueing the parents as the children are minors...

  4. if you have talked to you neighbor about this and i still happens i would  make a police report. there isn't any damage now but what if your property does get damaged later on .

  5. You can file a police report but unless there is any visible damage, I doubt they will do much. You might try to videotape the little b******s and show that to the police to have it on file in case they do do any damage down the road.

  6. Maybe you can call your insurance company and ask them.  Also you probably can put a fence, but I still think you should get advice from your insurance company and tell them that eventually they will do some damages.  I hope this will help.  Ga

  7. I'd talk to the police and find out what you can do IF damage occurs.  I would ask the police to talk to the neighbors and let THEM know that any damage will be their's to pay for.  If you make a police report EVERY time, the police are gonna get pissed at you, you're bothering them over something relatively minor.  Let the police talk to the neighbors once, if that doesn't take care of it, then kick a dent in your door and blame the kids.
