Question:

Neighbor on Sexual Offender Website is he a rapist?

My neighbor was convicted of criminal sexual abuse to a 16 year old when he was 26 less than 2 years ago - does this mean he raped her or that it was non-consentual?? I cannot get a straight answer on-line. Even if it was consentual it's still creepy and my little ones are always talking to him and I don't trust him.

  1. by law and definition, statutory rape is non-consensual because the younger person is not legally capable of consent.

do you mean was there force involved?

have you simply tried asking your neighbor?

my guess is no force was involved, and the circumstances were ambiguous, otherwise he would be in for a long prison stint. more likely he plead to a lesser charge because the original charge would not have stuck at trial.

  2. If you wanted to contest him living next door to you, YOU CAN!  Go to the police station, write a report, and have neighbers sign it, b ecause there are little ones around, the community can come together to get him to move.

  3.   The biggest problem with the registry is that there are so many different degrees of sexual abuse that it's hard to determine how serious the offense is. That's not to say that all s*x offenses are not serious, but 90% of the convictions that you see on the registry are plea bargains from a more serious charge, so I would consider any listing as the most serious.

  4. Lock your house never go out side. Run awayyy.

  5. If it was forcible rape, he probably wouldn't be out in the general public.  My guess is that he had a younger girlfriend and was caught having s*x with a minor.

Still, I would not totally trust him.  He obviously has low standards.  A call to the police, explaining your concerns, might get you the answers.

Your children are of paramount interest and should be protected at all costs.  Keep an eye on them and always listen to what they have to say, especially if it includes your neighbor.

Very best to you and your family.

  6. Most s*x offender web sites list the crime. What does it say?

  7. It could mean that he had s*x with a minor, meaning someone under 18. The 16 year old fits the bill here. He should have known better, but what may have happened is they broke up and she reported him. Yeah, it is creepy, but the same thing could happen to an 18 year old boy who has a 16 year old girlfriend.

  8. It's possible it was consensual - that still counts as "rape" or "sexual abuse" under the law.  It's also possible that he it wasn't consensual.

  9. Don't ever trust him, try and run him outta the neighborhood!
