Question:

Neighborhood pool?

Our neighborhood wants to install a pool for the use of the residents. Have any of you had good or bad experiences with neighborhood pools?

My biggest concern is liability for accidents. All insurance policies have limits of liability and if a suit awards more that the insurance covers, homeowners will be responsible.

  1. My neighborhood has a pool at the playground. There have never been any accidents that I know of, and there ae lifeguards on duty. Neighborhood pools are a positive thing.. as long as they are kept clean and safe then I see no harm.

  2. What? What's all the concern it's just a neighborhood pool what could happen? Parent's should be watching their kids in the pool. I mean what kind of accident?! Lawsuits for what? If they're not watching their kid and their kid drowns or something it's very very sad but it's their own fault they will not win the suit! I know a few parents can just be so irresponsible these days.

  3. I agree with Jordan. The only way you would need to worry about the pools insurance would be if they were negligent. The vast majority of accidents at pools are the persons own fault so no claim towards the pool would be made. Don't worry so much. You have a much better chance of being in a car accident on the way to the pool.

  4. We had one in our neighborhood. But one boy ruined it because he ejaculated in it. It turns out he was HIV positive.

The pool is closed do to aids.
