Neighbors are plucking my flowers!!!

Question

someone's been picking beautiful, large dahlias from my garden and I want to put up a sign to tell them to stop doing that. What's the best way to send them the message?? I really want them to feel shameful about ruining other people's property.

If you can't talk to them about it - yes - put up a sign.  It seems obvious to me that you don't pick flowers out of someone elses yard!  DAH!

OMG the nerve!!! Yes, put up a sign, you can either make one up, like Do Not Pick Flowers, Area Under Camera Surveillance,(I don't believe in saying 'please' in my signs, because I am not asking, I am telling) or Caution: There are Snakes in the Garden, or you can see if a home improvement store has any pre-made warning signs, like a version of a Brinks Home Security System.  You could, in time, put up a motion sensor light, they are fairly easy to install, they may also have them at home improvement stores. You could even go so far as to actually put up a video camera in a window to see which neighbor it is, then you could show the police or a lawyer.  Good Luck!

I've found the best way to make a point like that is to use humor.  You can make your point without getting anybody mad at you.  For example, you could put up a sign that says "This is our home, and we get very scared anywhere else. Please don't pick us.  Thanks.  -The Flowers."  I did this at work and it kept people from stealing my pens.
