Neighbour goes in our back garden while we're on holiday?

Ok there's this little b***h that lives next-door-but-one from me. Last time we went on holiday, when we came back, the gate was open and she told my brother (who she was in love with at the time) that she had been in our back garden. We didn't get the reason out of her. We're going away on holiday tomorrow for 1 week, we are worried she will do this again. We have a gate but it is easily moved and hasn't got a lock. We don't really know or trust the neighbours either. This girl is 13 and is very 'common' (fat, swears in every sentence, smokes, breaks the law, doesn't give a d**n.) She also harasses my brother constantly, swearing at him, she even threatened to kill him once. Her mother doesn't seem to care anyway and is just as bad as her daughter. What can we do about this?

ask another neighbour to keep an eye on things while you're away.

Repair the gate put a lock on it and a sign to say Tresspassers will be prosecuted.

sorry it's not impossible to get a chain and a lock from a hardware store it will run you about 20 bucks max. and if your this concerned then i would make that investment!  if it is soild then drill a hole!

other then that get a friend to house sit!

it wouldn't be a bad idea to get to know your neighbors when you get back from holiday so if this happened again at least you all can watch out for each other!

You could be spite full and call child services a 13 year old girl shouldn't smoke!

Neighbor problems… well my neighbors decided to have a pool party while we were in Hawaii for the week… just my luck a friend stopped by and called me and I had them arrested for trespassing.  Being that it’s last minute and you don’t have time for a lock I would suggest you have a friend check on the house every 48hrs and place some zip locks on the gate they cost around 3 bucks… that’s a cheap and effective way to notify you if someone has been tampering with your gate… good luck

Have you spoken with the neighbour directly about the problem, or her parents? You should have talked to them immediately after discovering she had been in your backyard. Ask your other neighbour to keep an eye on your yard, let you know if anyone is in there while you are away. When you come back, if you find that she has done it again, address the situation directly, to her and her parents together. Explain that it is private property, she is not to be there, and that it is trespassing. If it keeps up, make a non-emergency phone call to your local police station - 13 is way too old to be trespassing on people's property, and a visit from an officer might do the trick.

Call the cops and tell them you will be on vacation and that you have had a problem with tresspassers in the past.  Ask them to keep an eye out for you.

what u should do is put up cameras and when u get her on tap play good cop bad cop and  ask  her questions

You can borrow my rottweiler to guard the place while you're gone:)  Other than that all you can do is set up a motion activated video camera and turn the footage of her over to the police.

Do you have other neighbors who can watch your property?  Perhaps let the authorities know and have them check every now and then.  Otherwise, you may be out of luck.

Secretly dig a deep pit in the back garden and plant sharp bamboo poles. Cover with grass.
