Question:

Neighbours pig!?

Our neighbour has been raising a pig for the past two months. However they are moving to another country to live in a weeks time and they asked me if i wanted to keep the pig.

My two sisters have always admired how fat it had grown in a short while and wished they could eat it's pork and as they never got along with the neighbours, the decision is on me.

What decision should i make or what would you do if you were in my place?

  3. Have you ever seen a pig get slaughtered before? I have and it's disgusting, you chop the head of and blood goes everywhere then it runs around for a few minutes and just falls down dead.

It's something that you should never see and I don't think you should kill it at all. So you either say no to your neighbors or you keep it as a pet, it you decide to keep it then make sure you have the money for it's up keep and treat it with respect, it has just as much right to live as anyone.

  4. Well don't eat the pig !

Just for a fact that people who keep pigs as pets give them meds and get them shots and stuff to keep them from getting sick. It might make the meat taste funny, and could be very bad for you.

Pigs are pretty intelligent creatures with a lot of depthm it surprises a lot of people.

It could be a little traumatic for the pig that might think it could be abandoned.

If you do decide to keep the pig read up on them. Good stuff.

  5. dont keep that pig because your neighbour in one type is leaving its responsibility on you and you or your sis are planning to eat it thats not fair for that little pig its also a living being and if u want to keep it try not to kill it

  6. i could never eat an animal i had to slaughter myself-it would be too traumatizing for me.

was this pig a family pet of theirs? do they know that you eating it is an option if they let you have it?

if it was a pet-i would kindly decline the offer to take it.

  7. Say yes and fire up the BBQ - I like the smell of bacon in the morning, it smells like ... victory ...

  8. unless u r ready to take the reponsibility for it u

  9. Be a good neighbour, keep the pig as a pet. He is innocent. He never did anything to anyone and deserve to be well taken care of. By the way, pigs are as intelligent as dogs. Don't mistreat the poor thing. Tell your sister to go get their own food somewhere else.

  10. Hi Melissa,

It's funny Liz talking about a well taken care of, and zappafan talking about fire up the BBQ, LOL :> nice people.

I seriously like both! LoL :>

In my opinion you should keep it as long as she don't become a problem for you, starting with her maintance, also you should have a place to put the poor animal.

    Wish you the best,

    Greetings,
