Neil Robertson believes he is well prepared for 2012 World Snooker Championship – Snooker News
Battle among the top 32 potters of the 2012 World Snooker Championship has begun at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. Every cueman has only one goal in mind, to hit the final of the mega event and claim the title.
The former World Snooker Champion, Australia’s Neil Robertson is also aiming for the same target and believes that he is well prepared for the Championship this year.
The Australian potter showed great performance in the 2010 World Snooker Championship and was able to win the tournament after beating Graeme Dott in the final encounter. However, after that he was not able to defend his title next year in 2011 World Championship
and crashed out if the event. This season, the Aussie began his campaign with a new aim and determination that he has achieved well so far. Robertson has been working hard to improve his performance and become more competitive.
He played impressively throughout the recent snooker season and clinched some major and minor ranking snooker events. One of his impressive accomplishments was winning the 2012 Masters snooker event, one of the Triple Crown of snooker after the World Snooker
Championship and the UK Championship. The Thunder from Down Under is now all set to face any challenger during his Championship run and believes he can very well trouble anyone.
While speaking to the local media, Robertson said, “I’ll be going into the championships and all the focus won’t be on me, which is nice. I feel there’s less pressure and there’s less things to do media-wise.”
The Victorian potter added, “I’m going into the world championships in my best form to date. I won the Masters and reached the semi-finals of the UK Championships and won two European PTC events and reached the final of the PTC Grand Final.”
The Aussie will be meeting with the former World Snooker Champion from Ireland, Ken Doherty in the opening round of the Championship. The clash will be quite thrilling as both potters are on top of their form lately. It will be exciting to see how Robertson
manages to perform against the dynamic Doherty.
