Nemanja Vidic claims Manchester United deserve their success
Manchester United defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 believes that Manchester United are where they deserve to be, despite claims that the Red Devils are performing nowhere near their best.
Vidic believes his side deserves all that is coming to them. He accepted that United got off to a rocky start to the 2010-11 season, but he insists that they have done enough to earn their place.
Taking the fight back to the critics, Vidic said, “I am not surprised by where we are. The table shows where we should be. In some games we scored a goal in the last minute but there were others, at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 and Fulham for instance, when we conceded them.
We are where we are. We have the points we should have overall.”
Manchester United can conceivably go on to win the treble of the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup titles, but Vidic claims that his side is not looking that far ahead.
The defender said, “As players we don't have that kind of mentality. We are just taking it game by game. We have important matches to play but the next one is Wigan. We have to take the three points. I believe we can.”
United lead the Barclays Premier League standings with a one-point advantage over nearest rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. However, the Red Devils still have a game in hand, and they are favourites to go on and win their 19th Premier League title in the ongoing
2010-11 season. Along with their position in the League, Manchester United are also within touching distance of the FA Cup and Champions League crowns.
What is amazing is that the Red Devils have reached their current position without having to shift to their highest gear. Critics have blasted United’s performances in the season, claiming that the Manchester club are lucky to find themselves in such a strong
position.
We will find out whether Vidic can back up his words with action when Manchester United go up against Wigan Athletic on 26 February, 2011.
