Nemanja Vidic slams Manchester United's defensive errors
Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has lashed out at the defensive errors which have caused the English Premier League giants to drop vital points in their travels this season.
The Red Devils are still searching for their first away win after they had to rely on Michael Owen to earn them a 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers on Sunday, after errors by Patrice Evra, Jonny Evans and Park Ji-Sung allowed the home side to take the lead
on dual occasions.
The match had provided United with a good opportunity to gain ground on league leaders Chelsea, who had lost to Manchester City on Saturday, and they now sit in second place, three points behind the Blues.
As a result, United team captain Vidic has slammed his teammates for the lapses in concentration that have led to them dropping points.
"It is a big concern that we are conceding so many away goals. We have to stop doing it. We cannot let it happen again. Over the last few years we haven't given that many goals away or even allowed them so many chances. Before we have always looked strong,
so this is not what we are used to. We have to play much better in our away games."
The draw against Bolton comes after a match at Goodison Park which saw Everton strike twice in injury-time to earn a share of the spoils. United also dropped points at Craven Cottage when Fulham defender Brede Hangeland atoned for a goal by popping up to
net an equalizer in the 89th-minute, making the final score 2-2.
United’s next opportunity to stop the rot on their domestic travels will come when they play Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
