Left on the bench in the 2-1 against Nancy Lorraine, Paris Saint-Germain star Nene had some issues with Carlo Ancelotti and it was evident that the Brazilian was not happy with the decision much to the surprise of fans
Everything has already been said on the ‘Nene case’ in recent days. The Brazilian was involved in an outburst when Carlo Ancelotti broke news that he won’t be starting the game against Nancy Lorraine. Clearly, Nene was angry at the decision and gave the
Italian tactician a full account of how he felt about the decision.
Though benching Nene was a surprising decision, the Brazilian winger’s reaction was even more surprising.
In the last few weeks, much has been said about Nene’s outburst and how he reacted to the decision.
In order to put the record straight, Nene has come out in the open. The Brazilian gave an interview to PSG TV in which he apologised to the fans for his outburst and also explained why he got so uncharacteristically angry.
The former AS Monaco player said that he was angry only because he wanted to help his teammates against Nancy.
However, Nene admitted that he made a mistake by reacting so harshly and went on to apologise to his teammates.
“I reacted badly. Those on the bench must motivate others and I know that’s what I should have done. I apologised to my teammates.”
Media also claimed that Nene went as far as doing a ‘Carlos Tevez’ on Carlo Ancelotti. However the Brazilian denies all this.
“This is absurd. I did not even warm up because that’s what the coach decide.”
In the end, Nene said that he loves the club and will always give his best no matter what.
“Nobody can say anything about my work. I cannot say that (media suggested that Nene said “I will never wear this shirt”) because I don’t want to disrespect the club that gave me so much.”
Certainly, media took things totally out of proportions by directing false allegations at a player who has been ever so consisted for the side since the start of the season.
With things now cleared up, it can be expected that Ancelotti will look to start the game with Nene again considering how out of sorts PSG looked without him.
