The Brazilian is keen to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer but it appears that sporting director Leonardo has not made up his mind
“Nene’s future still unclear” (Le Parisien), “Nene is too disappointed” (L’Equipe) – these are the types of statements that have been circulating regarding the future of the Brazilian winger.
Nene, joined the club from AS Monaco in the summer of 2010 and for two seasons, has been the top scorer in Ligue 1 for the Ile giants. However, despite such strong performances, the winger does not command the respect from his leaders.
The Brazilian scored goals galore last season but it was deemed not sufficient enough. With the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029, it is clear that Nene will not be given a lot of opportunities to show his worth to coach, Carlo Ancelotti.
The winger’s contract at the club expires next year and so far, there have been no reports of Nene getting a contract extension. This decision, which is largely being made by sporting director Leonardo, has surprised the club’s fans and has placed Nene in
a very uncomfortable situation.
While talking to the media, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 said there is no battle between him and Leonardo but never once gave an assuring sign of granting the player a contract extension.
“This is not because he has one year left on his contract that we are obliged to extend Nene’s contract or that he will leave. I do not think like that at all. We talk, we talk to explore the best solutions and opportunities for him and us, that’s all. And
Nene may well stay at PSG this season. He still has one year on his contract. There is no battle between us,” said Leonardo.
Often criticised for his individualistic behaviour on the field, Nene has two clubs interested in his services. The first is Turkish side Galatasaray with whom Leonardo has reportedly begun negotiations while the other is an unnamed club from the Middle
East.
PSG have asked interested clubs to pay 7 million euros for the talented winger who in all fairness, has nothing to prove to Ancelotti and co as his statistics from last season speak for themselves.
