  1. i would actually say 6-8 is enough to have in a 10 gallon tank

  2. thats alot the tanks ganna get dirty fast

    id get 10

  3. No. I had 6 neons and 6 glow lights in a 10 gallon and 5 died of disease. Go for like 5 or 10.

  4. No, that is too many.  They say about 1 inch per gallon.  You can try up to 15.

Have fun, they are neat fish especially when in a school.

  5. Rule of thumb is 1" per gallon. Neons are about 1.5 inches, so I wou;dn't do more than 9.

  6. I'm sure it can be done, but it's pushing the limits.

Over filtered, extra aeration, big water changes. But the more you push the boundaries, the more likely that something catastropic will happen.

BTW, the 1" rule is a crock, and you CAN keep more than 1 neon per gallon.. the real question is, how many more?

  7. NO! That is WAY overstocked! Maybe 10...15 max with no other species......15 is pushing it.

Edit:The one inch of fish per gallon rule is bs that petco and petsmart started. You either end up with a WAY overstocked ot under stocked tank. Like having a 10 inch oscar in a 10 gallon tank...that would not work. Way overstocked. Or having five 2 inch guppies ina 10 gallon tank...way under stocked! you can house 15 guppies in there if you keep up with water changes!

  8. No, 10 would be the max.
