can i drive with my neon under lights on in texas?

  1. I'm sorry let me clarify. They are illegal in the state of texas but the local police basicaly do not care. It's like the liscens plate light.... you most likely won't get pulled over for it unless you attract attention to yourself or are acting suspicious. The Texas police however have the ability to cite you for it if he/she is not in a very good mood. so to sum that up.

    yes they are illegal but it is not enforced often.


  2. Texas state law says that undercar neon lights are legal as long as the light bar its self is not showing and it is not flashing while driving. It also states any light on a vehicle that is not a headlamp, taillamp, driving lights or anything of that nature CANNOT be brighter than 300 "candle power". Just my interperitation. Use at your own risk.
