Election of constituent assembly is utmost requirement in Nepal, not only to decide the fate of the king but also to have a constituent of the people, by the people and for the people. Previously Nepal war virtually reigned by Ranas who never let general public to rule. Later there was a constituent made by handful of People led by King Tribhuwan and political parties which was later declared dead by King Mahendra with the rise of Panchayati System. The constituent given by King Mahendra was ammended by King Birendra following the Janamat Sangraha at bikram samvat 2036. Later again new constitution was formed by political parties under the leadership of then Chief Justice Bishwonath Prasad Upadhyaya following the democratic movement at bikram samvat 2046.

The similarities between all these constituents are that none of these were made by the participation of people.

If we are talking about the fate of our country, constituent assembly is required. Some people think that constituent assembly is to remove king which is wrong. Constituent assembly can also give king an honorary head of state position like in Britain. It all depends on the mandates given by the public.
