  1. I think the route of Annapurna Base camp is more beautiful but Everest Base camp is world known and is beautiful too.

If you went to Everest Base camp then you can brag about it. But if you went to Annapurna Base Camp then you will have some more explanation and/or showing of pictures to do..

    Basically same.

I have taken a plane from Pokhara to Jomsom. I went to Muktinath and then climbed down to Pokhara. It was awsome.

I think you have to do more than just a basic backpacking.

  2. Both of the routes are excellent trekking routes. Depending upon your interest: what you want to see, how long you want to trek, how high you want to reach, how much you want to spend, you have to decide the route. For your kind information, following are the trek routes in both areas. Check  the website for more information.

    Annapurna Route:

    1. Annapurna Circuit Trek - 23 Days (830m/2723ft to 5416m/17769ft)

    2. Annapurna Base Camp Trek - 14 Days (910m/2986ft to 4090m/13418ft)

    3. Everest Base Camp Gokyo Cross Chola La - 19 Days (2840m/9317ft to 5545m/18172ft)

    4. Gokyo Ri Trek - 14 Days (2840m/9317ft to 5383m/16299ft)

    5. Gokyo Valley Via Renjola Pass - 12 Days (2850m/8563ft to 5383m/16299ft)

  3. It all depends on you. Both of these treks are excellent. You can do backpacking in both of these treks. The time required is somewhat similar.
