Yeah, I know that it is just Pre-K, but he is a very smart kid. He will be graduating next Wednesday and I would like to get him a little something but I am not sure. What do you think would be a nice little gift to let him know that me and my daughter are proud of him, and maybe a little something for him to do over the summer to really help prepare himself for Kindergarton.

Serious answers only please, and thanks to all who post.

  1. how about a backpack full of fun things to do or education workbooks, sidewalk paint/chalk, new shirt or clothing for school, gift card to mcdonalds, etc.

my personal favorite though is a savings bond.  i always got my child one for each occassion and they added up when she graduated high school.

  2. An educational video game

  3. Sidewalk chalk--so he can play outside while he practices letters and numbers.  Besides, it is just FUN to play with sidewalk chalk!

  4. How about some Kindergarten curriculum books (found at Walmart, Target, etc.).  My daughter has some and just LOVES working in them...plus, she's learning!!!  The books do a good job with pictures and games, so it should keep the kids engaged.

  5. There are tons of books about graduating. Some of our favorites are Biscuit's Graduation and Oh The Places You'll Go. If you go on Amazon.com and enter the keyword graduation books for children, a lot of them will come up.

  6. graduation doesn't mean anything until you graduate high school

  7. start him a book collection from a specific author....eric carle, dr. seuss or other authors have several different books that would make sense.....

get him started on a book club or other type of monthly book program....keeps them interested, builds community awarness and what kid doesn't like to rec mail

one of my personal favorites to give is an art or school set....begin with a tackle box (make sure it has lots of little spaces or areas to store things) then purchase pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, sm rulers, tape, scissors, stickers, and other office or school supplies....and include a few different types of paper and markers (washable of course) and then he will be all set when he has to do homework or wants to do art projects

try to stay away from electronic toys and computer games they don't help children learn to think for themselves and gives them more excuses to sit and watch a computer screen

  8. Get him an iPhone.

    No, seriously!

  9. puzzles

CD of games (jump start or clifford)

    paint

    books(not workbooks)

A board game (chutes and ladders)

    Lacing cards

Gift card to Target (to let him choose)

    Something fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. How about lots of chalk, markers, crayons and paper along with some outdoor toy of some sort. Avoid coloring books and workbooks. They kill the joy of learning and the thrill of creating. If you want something to do with letters a set of alphabet stamps is fun.

  11. Balloons. Then take him to a toy store to have him pick whatever he wants..

Books from any stores that says Kindergarden math books, mazes, connect the dots, ABC and 123 books.. Then read him books after books every day and night..

  12. my now 6 yr old son graduated preschool a few yrs ago the one and only thing he wanted was  a coconut and he seven drank it he was so excited and showed all his friends and it was just so great and not to mention cheap
