  1. Lovely place, make sure you spend some time in the beach side restaurants. A visit to the Alhambra Palace is a must, but pre-book because they limit visitor numbers every day and it is Spain's number one tourist attraction (and rightly so, do not miss it.)

  2. The wife and I were there a couple of years ago and we loved it. It's not too brash or noisy, lots of ex-pats around if your Spanish isn't too good.

Most people land at Malaga airport and head west to the typical holiday destinations like Torremolinos and Fuengirola or even Marbella and Puerto Banos if your wallet can handle it.

Not many people tend to head east to Nerja so it's not as spoiled as the other places. Also, it's not too far to drive to Granada which is a beautiful place (google it) if you fancy a day trip.

  3. I was there in 2005 and I would recommend a Hotel called Paradores.  It was one of the most amazing places I have ever seen.  The hotel sits about 40 feet above the sea and the view is spectacular.  You take an elevator down to the beach.  The beaches are beautiful and the food is wonderful.  I highly recommend it.  Nerja also has a large cave that is fun and interesting and of course from there you can travel along the coast to the other cities mentioned to the west and you can also access the cities to the north without going more than 2 hours or so on the mountain roads.  You will love it if you go there.

  4. Nerja is beautiful.  As a past answer said its sourrounded by mountains, and you are able to travel to the likes of Granada for the Alhambra, Seville for Culture, or just chill out on the beaches, September is a great time to get wed, as in August the spanish come down to the coast to escape the heat in land!!.

I live in Spain and my partner and I frequent Nerja for a day out to escape!!

Email me if you need anything else.

    Good Luck

  5. Nerja is surrounded by mountains and beautiful beaches. Its climate, with an average year-round temperature of 20°C, is ideal. Farming, fishing and tourism are its main sources of wealth
