Nero 7 Essentials....Can and How can i burn DVDs on it that play on DVD players?

i know how it works on Nero 8, you go to Create and Edit and the Make audio and video, but there seems not to be anthing like that on Nero 7 Essentials....i got it because i would have though it was an essential in a burning program, but is it an essential in Nero 7 essentials or do i need to get an upgrade for it?
