Question:

Nero does not want to burn DVD-RW?

Hello!

I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden NERO refuses to write DVD-RW's. I have no problem writing on DVD-R, and have not had any problems with DVD-RW. Just couple days ago it worked. I have not installed any programs or anything. When I insert DVD-RW, Nero freezes completely - freezing my PC. Do you know why this is happening. Defenately not a memory problem, cause it use to work and I've got enough of memory on PC.

Could be something else?

Thank you!

  1. If it's just a problem with an RW, you might try erasing it first.  Usually Nero will sense there is something on the disk before it writes to it, and ask you at that point if you want to erase it.  But there might be a problem with the disk. RWs are notoriously unreliable.

So try erasing it first, without trying to write to it. I'm not sure how to do this, it depends on what version you are using and so forth, but look in your Help if you don't know how.

Also, RWs gather dirt and dust and this is one thing that makes them hard to write to.  So you might try washing it first, with just a tiny drop of dishwashing soap.
