  1. Take it one shot at a time. Your butterflies at the start might give you some energy. I always started out good on the first hole despite the butterflies.

Breathe easy. Make sure you stay relaxed. Don't get hyped to the point that you lose focus. If you lose focus, you won't likely end up playing what you want. Good luck!

  2. Nice run on. Just be confident and know that there will be other people nervous like you. Being nervous means you care about your work. Just dont let it eat at you. Learn to use your nervousness to help you and make you want to play better. You wont be nervous if you throw down a 60 and sit on the top of the leaderboard. BTW, I'm 15 too.

  3. Don't swing too hard on that first shot. You can't do anything about the nerves. They are there and they are natural to get.

You will be inclined to try and hit the ball harder when you begin the tournament. Just relax and think about relaxing your grip. Don't try to crush the ball. You may even want to start with a 3-wood so you don't feel the disire to try and drive it farther. Also, don't worry about how the people you play with are playing or how they hit the ball. Focus on how you hit it and how you are playing.

  4. The key to calming your nerves during a golf tournament is to establish a good pre-shot routine, which usually helps you to concentrate on the shot at hand.... I am 16 and have been playing golf for about 3 years. I use this when I go to my high school tournaments.
