I am taking the ACT test (similiar to the SAT test) and I wanted some encouragement.

When you took the SAT, was it harder then you expected?

Have any tips to share?

Thanks so much! =))

  1. Don't be nervous. It doesn't matter what you get because you can always retake it. I definitely would go to the ACT website and make sure to try a problem of each so that way when you take the test, you don't need to waste time reading the directions.

Also, remember to answer ALL of the questions. The SAT penalizes you for wrong answers, but the ACT doesn't. So it's to your advantage to blindly guess.

Also, make sure to get there early so you don't feel rushed. Bring 3 sharpened pencils, just in case (NOT mechanical). Put everything out ahead of time the night before you go (because when you get up early, you're bound to be forgetful!)

Whatever you do, try your best, have a good attitude, and don't be nervous! That's the best advice I can give:)

  2. I agree with Cam, but I would also try taking an actual times practice test. That is because the time, at least for me, is a lot shorter than I would have expected. Also, go over the graphs/charts section, it to me, and many others, completely by surprise.

Also, make sure you bring the right type of calculator for the test.  Some types are prohibited.
