Nervous about highschool program ib?

ok, well i'm starting grade nine, freshmen, and i'm in the myp ib program.

is it hard, or nerve wracking?

i need advice for handling ib.

um the The International Baccalaureate (IB) program? I'm not in it, but i know people that are and they say it's a lot of work and it's hard at times. If you put your mind to it, then you'll do fine. don't ever give up and do your best! here are some tips:

1)take good notes

2) do and turn in your hw on time

3) when you need help ask for help

4) study for tests

if you do this then you'll do fine...good luck :D

The successful International Baccalaureate student would...

...be self-motivated and family supported

(the desire to take and to succeed in IB must ultimately come from within the student);

...desire to challenge him/herself intellectually and academically

(someone who just wants to "get by' or who is "going through the motions" to get into college will be uncomfortable in an IB environment);

...be a competent reader

(we recommend that a student come to an IB class having scored no lower than the 80th percentile on the reading comprehension portion of the standardized eighth grade ITBC test or equivalent);

... speak and write the English language clearly and effectively

(this would be determined by the recommendation of his/her tenth grade English teacher);

... have adequate written and oral ability in French or Spanish or Latin

(this would be determined by his/her current Spanish, French or Latin teacher);

... possess conspicuous analytical/critical thinking skills

(this would be determined by the 1Oth grade teacher recommendations)

...possess or be willing to acquire good time/stress management skills;

...be open to new ideas and tolerant of different beliefs;

...participate in school and community activities.
