I'm starting High School; September 2, my birthday 14th...unfortunately :(

and I'm nervous. I went to registration...Tuesday, think? And mine was like five hours long and all through that time I felt like balling my eyes out. I've only been to one school in my whole life, and all the people from my old school I've pretty much known since kindergarten or at least first grade. The High School I'm going to there's not a lot of people from my school going there...only my friend Stephanie and this guy named Lacey that I know. All my other friends are going to a different school :(

and one of my friends I've since I was maybe three? and we've never been apart an I'm scared, really scared and nervous, as I've said like three times, haha XD

So yeah, any advice about High School??

Thanks =)

  1. My First day was actually pretty cool

    i was really nervous

your supposed to go to home room

over here we do it for the first two days and then

we go to our first period

its okay if you get lost you can ask a teacher cuz there usually out side there door. or a sophomore that looks nice. there usually pretty cool about it cuz this sophomore helped me out. and you wont get your locker til a while cuz you need to sign a load of forms

BUT HONESTLY its nothing to get worked up

just move out of the way for the upper class man

    get to ur classes fast

and get on the bus fast

cuz they leave and you can get stuck at school

and you would have to call your mom to pick u up

  2. Its not that bad...high school will show you the best time of your young years if you are eager to learn.

  3. just be yourself, the teachers will help you out

  4. heyy...

i'm a freshman too, but i started on monday. anyway, i was nervous as h**l. people from my old school still went here, but me and my best friend keep to ourselves most of the time. like, even though we know other people, we're our only friends. haha...

anyway, it's alright to be nervous. everyone is. but that phase quickly passes. it's been a week since i started, and i really like it. you'll meet new people, and it's not like they'll degrade you because you came from a different school. it'll take time getting used to, but it's really fun after that, and i'm not even that popular.

on the first day, put your books in your locker, then head to your first class. and before school starts, go one afternoon with your mom or something, and find all your classes and locker and stuff. but after the first day, things get really good. there's a lot of work, but you get used to it. and it's not like the upperclassman pick on you, like they say. everyone keeps to themself. i really like it.

so don't worry. at least you have your best friend there, and that's all you really need. you'll meet new people, and you'll get used to it. don't worry, ok? i was as nervous as h**l before hs started, and now, it's just fine. so good luck, sweetie!

  5. well what you should do is when you get there ask a staff, they should know and don't be nervous, cause no upperclassmen going to be paying any attention to you, just worry about your classwork

  6. Don't be so worried. I just started tenth grade this year.  Don't worry about any of the upperclassmen There may be rumors about them being mean or whatever but the truth is no upperclassmen is worried about a freshmen.  They will probably barely look at you.  Go to your locker first if you want so you can put some things in it and don't be afraid to ASK a teacher or staff member where a class is.  Just show them your schedule and tell them you don't know where your class is.  That's what they're there for.  And don't waste time but don't stress yourself out if you're late to a class.  They won't give you a detention for being late your first few days.  And as far as friends go, once you make it to your classes you're likely to find that there are tons of other students there that feel the exact same way you do.  Before you leave ask the teacher where to find your next class.  Ask a few students in the class to see if anyone else is going the same place you are.  Then the two of you could find it together.  Don't be so scared.  You'll love it.  High school gives you a lot of freedom.  You'll have the hang of it before you know it.  Don't be so worried.  You'll be just fine.

  7. Relax! If you need help getting anywhere id reccomend you ask a teacher rather then a student for help finding your class. If you only know two people in your school you probably will be in classes with nobody you know, just try to be friendly and outgoing although you might feel akward at first you'll eventually meet lots of great new people!

  8. you will be fine theres less drama

This is the time to bring out your creative side and study when you don't want to.

  9. i just starrted its not that bad just talk to people

  10. i know exactly how you feel

stress is ok, but don't let it overwhelm you! high school is great :)

firstly, don't worry about what to do

I'm sure there will be people there to greet you and show you were to go and what to do

secondly, about not knowing many people - trust me - it is probably for the better!

i had the same issue when i first started but it was actually just what i needed

you get the chance to meet knew people, and make new friends without any pressure of your old friends.

its TOTALLY normal to be nervous, but just remember to relax and have fun too.

    good luck!

    ps. happy birthday

  11. Well, if you have your locker combination already then you should go to your locker first so you don't have to carry your stuff around every where you go. But then you should go to your homeroom. Just ask people or teacher. Some teachers will be outside their rooms and they're there to help you. You'll make a lot of new friends if you just be yourself. Don't worry about being popular because that just makes a lot of drama. If your late your teachers will understand (atleast for the first week or so). Good Luck =)
