Hey, i have v-ball tryouts on Monday and i'm not sure if i wanna go. None of my friends are going and im worried ill look stupid and embaress myself in front of all the people because i went to a camp in the summer and they all seemed to be so much better than me. I'm gonna be a freshman in highschool. Ive had practice before in middle school and was mvp, but you didnt have to tryout to be on the team and it wasnt like competitive at all. Should i go? I'm sooo nervous any advice would be really helpful. The main things im worried about are serving and hitting/spiking i can do a decent bump and set. Thanks!:)

  1. yeah i mean if u just pay attention and try to do ur best u should be fine.i mean in 7th grade i was okay but  i didn't make the  team but i  just practiced and now this year im co-captain. you can at least say u tried if u go.

  2. hey you should go out for the team. Some girls might be better than you but thats fine. as long as you have fun you shouldn't let other ppl decide what you are going to do. I bet you will do fine and just be confident and go into the tryout with confidence and tell yourself that you are just as good as every other girl out there. You gotta think you are the best player on the court. So go out for the team and have fun..

    Good Luck

  3. i feel the same way as you do. i have tryouts also and ill be a freshman

  4. dont ever make the mistake of not even trying. Try out for the team if you think its your thing. If you really want to play, go for it! It doesnt matter you dont have any friends with you, you'll make friends at volleyball!!! Theres always room for improvement, so even if you dont make the team, you can ask the coach what you should work on and try out next year! Be confident and uplifting to your fellow players at tryouts because coaches really look for that in a player.

    hope this helps!

    good luck!! <3

  5. you should def go!!! Honestly, all freshmen look stupid on the first day tryouts no matter what sport! cause majority of them are either new to the sport (esp sports that arent SO common to play in hschool like volleyball, lacrosse, golf, tennis... etc) As you practice and play games and stuff, you'll develop your skills and next year, you can laugh at the freshmen! (JK) But seriously, you'll not only have fun playing volleyball but you'll make new friends! It's important to join sports, clubs, organizations like that your freshmen year. Not to mention, you might feel left out if you dont play sports. Im a tri athlete, but 2 years ago, I couldnt play lacrosse cause of my injury, and I felt so left out cause they would dress up funky and do all these fun things on game day, but I'd always come to school with just boring regular outfits!! Away volleyball games are going to be so much fun too! You get to mingle and hang out with your teammates after your match. Whether you're freshmen, jv, or varsity, you'll have plenty of watching time!

  6. i think you should deff. go because you are young and you'll be great by senior year coaches like having their athletes from the beginning that way they can train them the way they like

  7. Remember this!! Its only a game.  To be the best, compete against the best.  It's not the end of the world if you don't make it on the team.  However, if you don't show up, it makes you a quitter and that's much worst.

Just put things in perspective, as I did on 9/11/2001.  After the terrorists crash those planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in an empty field in Western Pennsylvania, I just put events in 2 categories: The Important and the Unimportant.  If you do that, you'll be relaxed and I'm sure you will do just fine.

I will not wish you luck because only losers need luck.  You are a winner!!

  8. where do you go to school at?
