Volleyball tryouts are tomorrow. I've never tried out for anything and I've never played a sport on a team. I have to get up early in the morning and my stomach hurts every single morning. I'll be so nervous and I'm scared I'll get sick. I have no experience in volleyball, but my friend didn't either and she got on the team last year, and she will be at the tryouts. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

  1. Just relax and have fun, but try your best though. The reason for having fun is cause when you are having fun you tend to forget to be nervous. You do get! Let me know if you make it!

  2. i LOVE playing volleyball its a fun sport. just dont be nervous cuz your nerves aint helping you at all. just try ur best ok

  3. Look try not to think about until the day of the try out. Dont be nervous because if your nervous then your going to mess up your chance of making the team. Just think about having fun. If your having fun then you wont be nervous.

  4. that's a tough sport, i tried out last year, sure that i would make it, but got cut. just try your best and try to think of something else you can do if by chance you don't make it. that way you'll have a back up plan, maybe you won't be so nervous

  5. Coaches are looking for people with potential and with the desire to learn.  Be coachable and do the best you can.  Don't be afraid to talk either (especially if you are cheering on teammates).  Coaches like to see a positive attitude.  Good Luck!!

  6. Just go in there and try your best play as hard as you can  have fun because if you don't you wont like the game  that much trust me i have been playing for 10yrs  !! Good luck

  7. ok its like u have to be confident in yourself that you will make if u dont jus practice everyday ask the coach if u can practice with the team so that u can get better and so they know you are real serious about joining the team and if there is a spot open you will be their first pic.

  8. Hi!

It's normal to be nervous at tryouts, but don't let that stop you! I'll be there's some excitement in there too. ;)

I can offer you two tips. The first is to just do the best you can. The coaches understand that you may not have any experience. They'll be looking at whether you have the potential and willingness to learn.

My other tip for you is to go out there and have fun! The coaches will be looking at whether you can enjoy yourself while playing the sport. People who have fun seem to do better at sports and they end up being good team mates.

So, do the best that you can and have fun!

    I hope this helps!

  9. When at try-outs, don't let the coach see that you are nervous.  Ask your friend to help you learn the basics of volleyball and then when you get to try-outs, try to "shine" above the rest of the players.

Even if you are not the best one there, volunteer to demonstrate a skill that you feel comfortable with.  This will show that you have the basic skills, but better yet, it will show that you are a leader.  Being a leader is sooo important on a volleyball team.  A lot of coaches don't necessarily look for the best players at try-outs, but the players with the best attitude.

Remember, stay positive, be aggressive on the court, cheer others on at try-outs, and volunteer to do stuff at try-outs.  It is important to stand out (in a good way) not blend in with the rest of the kids trying out.

  10. well...how did you do?

  11. Wow, I'm pretty nervous to!  I've got volleyball tryouts in two weeks.   Coaches look for someone who has potential and eagerness to learn, not the next Mia Hamm or Kerri Walsh.   Go ahead and talk to the coaches before hand, letting them know you're new to volleyball, but that you ready to give a full force try.  They'll definely appreciate your coming out for tryouts(at so early to!) and will keep in mind that you might not have learned all the skills yet. Don't worry about stomach butterflies, volleyball is such a fun sport, you'll complete forget about them once you get out on the court!

    Best of luck!

  12. Just try your best. Show the coach you really want to play. Hustle. And just try really hard. Good luck.
