As if it's not enough of a big deal that I'm starting at a new high school, I'm going through a weird phase. Like, I don't feel confident at all. Pimples have started showing up on my face, and also my hair looks really bad. I have highlighted my hair blonde, and I was supposed to get the roots filled in before school starts, but there is no appointments available until 3 weeks. How can I hide my black roots for the first two weeks of school? How can I clear up my skin? I've been feeling so down about this. I'm dreading the start of school. I don't want to look horrible the first two weeks, that's when people pay the most attention to the new girl. School starts in 3 days btw. :(

  1. Confidence is part self-esteem part acting. If you act confident others will think you are until.. you become as confident as you act. Don't over do it though.

Pimples: get a good face wash regime. www.skinid.com will tell you what things to buy. You don't have to buy those products just products with the same medical ingredients. Get some concealer and foundation to cover any blemishes because it will take time to clear up your face.

Hair: Must you go to that salon? If you can't get in anywhere good just go to great clips or something, it won't be the best hair style of your life but roots are not an option!

Don't be too worried, Good luck!

  2. I am sure you do not look that bad. What are some things that you are good at? Accent your positive features and go from there. Remember being the new kid has its advantages ---mystery is a great one, you have a chance to start over and take the lessons of your previous mistakes.

    Good Luck

  3. hey

seriously dont worry about about the pimples, we all go through this and its nothing big.  for your hair i would say go somewhere else or just dont worry about it. no joke u got to be confident with yourself. trust me guys like girls who are confident ;)

  4. you can't in 3 days, don't touch your fingers to your face.

wash your face with acne medicine, pop your zits, put a little toothpaste on them it'll dry it up.

that sounds like it sucks about your hair... i hate it when people dye their hair & don't keep up.

just be yourself, smile, and meet new people

  5. maybe you should buy some dye and dye your hair all one color for now, and all i can say about your face is just keep scrubbing, maybe you can get to the doctors and get some prescription cream for it, i use my brothers and it works great

  6. Okay, first of all, listen to Trina Ft Rick Ross-Hot Commodity... don't feel bad. We all have our down times but you have to look in the mirror and say "Ima hot commodity." YOU SHOULD HAVE THE MINDSET THAT YOU ARE THE BEST AND CAN'T NOBODY DO IT LIKE YOU DO. Second of all, can you wear berets, hats? If so, wear one til you get a hair appointment. If not, flaunt that hair, do something drastic like curl it or straighten it. As for acne, we ALL had/have it. I say you just try a different regimen. Use a creamy cleanser and a toner in the morning and at night use a scrub once a week and acne spot cream. You'll be fine. Keep ya head up :)

  7. buy hair color in the box and it will look alright for 2 weeks until you get it done professionally.

buy some face wash (neutrogena is nice). also, order the proactive mask. its great and works overnight for me!

dont worry, everything will work out. and im sure that if you make an effort to talk to people, you'll make new friends really quickly.

  8. For your hair, you could get one of those hair dyes that are in a box that you by at a drug store. The good brans work well and will cover up dark roots. then book an appointment so that you can have the highlights put back in.

For your face, if you have big pimples, get some teetree oil. it works really well and will clear those up fast. if they are small, get a good face wash to exfoilate your skin. get one of those ones with the tiny little beads in them that clear your pores cuz thats the key to good skin, clean pores.

Go shopping and find some clothes that you really really like and can't wait to wear and put together a really nice outfit that will boast ur confidence. Go and get a manicure and a pedicure. Be confident. You'll be fine.

  9. Hey, I just wanted to follow up with u and tell u to honestly look into sufism and u will find happines like no other.

Also, not sure about the hair, but for your pimples, mix baking soda with a little water to make it creamy and then apply it onto your face, it will burn a little but thats good.

Trust me, baking soda is great.

As for the hair, u should wear hijab.

Dont worry so much, its not like everyone in school is perfect 10's, I remember some of the kids were so disgusting just to look at.

No one will know u r new, in high school, lots of people are new always, they come in from a number of different middle schools  and also other high schools

  10. use make up but not too much.. dont eat alot of sweets or oily foods try proactive but it doesnt work for everybody.. dont sweat it though

its just a couple of weeks, first impressions dont really last in highschool everyone's changing :)

    girls rate me plz LOL

  11. Well why don't you have a parent (i suggest your mom) dye your hair dark brown for you. ...or any place, dye it dark brown. Then....3 weeks later put in high lights. Since you are starting at a new school people will not only pay attention to when you first go there, but when you first make a change such as high lights. That way you start off the school year looking pretty and 3 weeks into the year you look Smokin'!!!

as for the acne, you said it yourself, you are going through a phase. Every gets acne. Try pro active. You could also be stressed out. things that cause acne are:

-Oil-based makeup, suntan oil and hair products

    -Stress

    -Hormonal changes, especially during menstruation

    -Squeezing or picking at blemishes

    -Hard scrubbing of the skin

I wish you much luck in 3 days!

    Sincerely,

    Terra K. Morgan

  12. I was in your same shoes two years ago! I was starting a new school, I didn't know anyone and I too was feeling conscious about stuff. But you know what I sucked it up and went in smiling and was outgoing and friendly and I ended up making lots of friends and actually loving my new school. Just go in there and act as though "you own the place" and that you are comfortable being you. If your comfortable with yourself people will be comfortable around you too!  ( And ultimately...you will feel comfortable when you start meeting people and stuff!)

As far as the black roots go...pull your hair back in a cute ponytail or wear a cute slouchy hat!

  13. if you cant get in at a different place then buy the box stuff...

for your acne, nothing will clear it up, just help, so what you should do is what i do...

before you shower wash your fash with a biore scrub, then while in the shower wash your face with "acne free neutrogena 100% grapefruit extract"..... then when you get out, dot your bad acne with olay clay mask once that is dry use an olay toner and the use a oil free lotion on your face..

    good luck

  14. Actually, nobody pays attention to the new girl. You're the social outcast. Even if they do, in a year, none of this will ever matter.

Just wear a hat, wear makeup, viola, you're set.

  15. well, for your face, if you really want to clear it up, dont eat junk food or sweets. they'll make your face worse. dont wear any foundatoin, and before school starts, try not to wear concealer. they'll both make your face break out more.

try washing your face just at night, and be sure to clear off all your make up. washing it with face wash too much will always cause more breakouts. in the morning, try spashing it with warm water, and then cold water. (opens pores, then closes pores)

try using st. ives apricot face wash, or the non scented if they have it.

you could also try boliing hot water, putting it in a bowl, but a tea bag in (chamomille or sleepy time), and then lean your face over the bowl and put a towel over your head so the steam doesnt escape. it opens pores, cleanses them, and then after, (stay for about 5 minutes or moe, not too much,) splash with cold water to close pores again.

as for your hair, try going to a beauty store or store with hari products and get some hair dye, or highlighter. get it as close to the shade of your hair as you can.  dye it at home, and it should hold you over for the first 2 weeks. or you could try different hairstyles (put it up or something) so you cant notice the roots as much.

hope i helped, and good luck!!

  16. wear u hair in a pony tail or some cute half up half down do like search something on youtube and for pimples just make sure u wash ur face every night and use proactive :] don't worry its going to be fine :]

good luck but u won't need it :]

  17. Buy a liquid foundation and concealor for the pimples, and just use a box hair dye from the drug store- it's no biggie. and no one likes roots- so I would do it If I were u.
