  1. focus on the finishline and not the race...clear your mind and you think only about that line you cross....don't look left or right or even in the stands.....one thought and one goal is to break that tape first

  2. just have fun the point of races is to keep people healthy

  3. I do the same thing. It seems like every time i have to go check in, i have to go to the bathroom. But once i start running, it all goes away. I'm a sprinter too, and it's like you're only running for a few seconds to half a minute or so at most. I get so mad at myself for working my self up so badly when it's all over so quick

But, it's good to be nervous too. Adrenaline rush! I'm always faster in meets.

  4. Dont think of the race, think of the medal/ribbon you will be showing off to the other players once you win! =)

    Have Fun!

    Hope It Helps!

  5. Okay.....you are JUST like me.....I am always SO nervous before  a race....but once the race starts, everything goes away.,......I don't see the crowd....I just see me and my opponents.......just focus when you run...........

Before you run.....like right before.....make sure you stretch and stay loose....if your muscles tighten up......you are not going to do well...............

And, if you really are nervous this MIGHT help.....as long as you keep your mind on something else..........picture a cloud above your head and take a deep breathe in to signify all your worries and troubles being lifted into the cloud and move the cloud away,, in your head....then focus on something you like...(for me I try to name as many designers as i can....)

Try to figure out some way to get your mind off the race.....one of my races.....i was SO psyched out at the start line that I didn't hear the gun go off and I got a late start and pretty much lost. SO........think that you will win...be positive.....enter the race..........above all the running is for fun.....that's more important than the competition......just as long as you tried your best.....it doesn't matter if you win or not.....there's always next time!!!!!!!

    Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Everyone get normal, but the good runners can overcome that. Just focus all your energy into preparing, tell yourself that you can do it, be confident in your training. Don't let any negative thoughts get into your head.

You almost have to get a bit cocky inside your head. Tell yourself that you're going to blow everyone away, and that nothing will stop you from winning. When you get on the line just focus on what YOU have to do, don't worry about anyone else and their mistakes. Hope this helps! :)

  7. just go for it!!! the first time i ran varsity i was so nervous i thought i was gonna be sick to my stomach! and i ended up getting first! just give it your best! if worst comes to absolute worst, then you come in last. you might be sad for the rest of the day, but by the time its all over everyone is gonna forget about it! but if people are saying that you are really fast, then they'res a good chance that you will do very well

    good luckk!!!

  8. well don't get nervous theres always some1 faster they say so just have fun its not like your the fastest girl ever and the year before u won the title and have to defend it so just have fun

  9. Just treat is as a practice and keep in mind you are fast and you want to show others that you are fast. It is not abnormal to be very nervous for the first (several) race you do.

Good luck and you will be just fine.
