  1. here is some tips to get through freshman year

    -ignore "stupid freshman" remarks

-actually try in school because collages see your grades

-don't start drama! its not middle school any more

-there is a good chance upperclassmen will not want to b seen if public with you even if you are friends. but some are ok with it

-be yourself, don't live a lie because it is not worth it

    -lastly, HAVE FUN!!

there is no need to be nervous, but every one will/ and was nervous on the first day wether they will admit it or not. something to look foward to is the lunches are usally better, and that people are more relaxed so it is kinda of calming compared to middle school.

    best of luck this year!!

  2. I'm a high school sophomore. Well, I'm from Romania, so I don't know about your educational system, but I'm going to tell you about my first days of high school and maybe you'll be able to form a better image in your head.

Many of the people who know me tell me that freshman year has changed me a lot. In the first place, it was a HUGE transition. The school that I had attended only had 1 class per grade, so I was used to only having like 25 more people of my level around me. The high school I attend, one of the best in Romania and the best in Bucharest (yes, I know, I tend to brag a lot but hey, it's true :) ), is simply huge - there is an average of 8 classes per grade (from A to I excepting H). The thing was that I was basically entering a small community. It was very creepy for me at first and, to be honest, the first time I took a good look at my class, I thought, "Oh God, where did I end up?". The stress was amplified by all the new teachers, the time spent there (7 hours of classes a day, every day and the time spent on the road - a total of 2 hours by bus, whereas I had been used to a total of 20 minutes by foot). Eventually, after a month or so, all the stress went away, and it all became just fine. I just love my colleagues and we do a lot of stupid things together, like ordering pizza at school :D Good luck and godspeed with high school, dude :)

P.S. Do you start this early? Here in Romania we start September 15th.

  3. It is natural to be nervous when going to a new school.  First, pick an outfit you feel confident in.  The  important thing is NOT to stay silent.  Be assertive.  Say hello to people, and ask them questions about themselves.  You can NEVER go wrong there.  Ask about the teacher and his/her reputation.  Ask to sit with someone at lunch, under no circumstances sit alone.  Just pick a table with people who look like your type, and ask.  Not hard.  You must, must, must, not be silent.  You are a likable person, no matter what.  You will have friends, no matter what.  Unless you are a turtle hiding your head and never speaking.  You must show who you are, or how are people going to know if they have things in common with you?  And if you don't talk to people, how will you know if they have things in common with them?  The best things to talk about:  music, movies (you can't go wrong with Superbad or Juno), TV, WII or any other video games, stuff like that.  I mean, really, what isn't there to talk about??

  4. it is actually you are going to have a different experience in your life

it is natural that we get confuse at some critical or decision making time of our lives ...........  so dont get nervous , be brave you will enjoy a lot

it is my personal experience that i was also very worried when i was moving for my high school but later on everything become fine so move on and enjoy the new experience in your life..

    best wishes.
