Question:

Netgear Wireless Modem problem - Works fine for me but not for other users on my PC - please help!?

I recently bought a Netgear DG834PN wireless modem. It was really easy to install and plugged in to my PC. When I log in to my account the internet is working fine, really fast and now is the connection under the "LAN or High Speed Internet" section in the connections panel, as opposed to the "dial up" section my old broadband was on.

Whenever any of the other users log in to their accounts on my PC it shows that the internet is connected fine in the bottom right icon on the taskbar, but whenever they try to open IE it keeps prompting the old dial up, and therefore all pages are shown in offline mode. I can't see how to get them to work.

When I used my laptop for the first time, it connected to the internet no problem and works fine, and I set up another user and it works fine for that account too.

I know it will probably be something so simple but it's so d**n frustrating!

Any suggestions???

All appreciated :o)

  1. on each of the affected PCs open internet explorer go to tools, internet options, connections, ensure "never dial a connection" is selected

    That should fix it

  2. are you like the main user? did you install the things with your account?

coz if you are (the main user) then you probably got the control over all the users.
