I have a new website that was setup last week with a domain and hosting. However, i wasn't able to connect to site. Friends were able to do that from their ISPs and laptops. So then I noticed that when i connect directly through the modem i can connect to the site, when i do it through the Netgear WGR614 v7 (which till now has been working perfectly) i can't connect to my new site. Why is that? what i have to do to unblock the setting of the router? Thanks,

  1. Go into your routers settings page. Just type the ip address in your browser. I'm not sure of the netgear ip but it either http://192.168.0.1 , http://192.168.1.1 , or http://192.168.2.1

Then find a setting to place yourself outside of the firewall. Your isp could be restricting you so also try using the clone ip on your router. It will use the same ip as your computer so the isp won't know the difference. Some isp's lock it on one mac address.
