Netgear wgr614?

my netgear wgr614 throws off 100% signal but i cant connect with my laptop or any wifi device

1)  Be really meticulous going through the setup on the laptop, and make sure IP ranges, any passcodes (WEP, WPA) are set up exactly right.

Try to surf with the laptop wired to one of the routers ethernet ports to make sure modem, internet connection, and router are operating OK.  If so, then you know it's a matter of getting laptop to router wireless settings correct.

2)   I can't be sure from what you mentioned, but make sure the modem behind the Netgear wireless router is getting internet OK.

If you can surf with the modem directly wired to laptop, you can eliminate that as a problem.

Are you recieving the signal? Are you putting right wpa or wep code? Then if you answer yes

then try this, first disable you wired card then

click start then run and trype cmd and enter

type ipconfig /flushdns and enter

type again ipconfig /release and enter

type again ipconfig /renew and enter

sounds like the encryption code or you might be trying to connect to the wrong network with your laptop.  Make sure you know what your SSID is and that you are connecting to that one..

i think you don't have the latest firmware....

because that kind of problem happened to me....

try to call the netgear or type this in your URL...

192.168.1.1

then the firmware latest version will pop-out there

are you putting in the encryption code?
