Netherlands Women 115/6 v Scotland Women 108/9 - Netherlands Women won by 7 runs
On Thursday, August 16, Netherlands women beat Scotland women by seven runs in the 6th match of the ongoing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Europe Women's T20 Qualifier, at Bready Cricket Club, Magheramason, Bready.
Scotland women chose to field first on winning the toss, and aimed to restrict the opposition on a small total to give their batswomen a serious chance of winning the match.
The Dutch openers, HW Rambaldo and D Hannema knocked a stand of 17 runs, before the demise of Rambaldo, who lost her wicket after scoring five runs off six balls.
Hannema was then joined by CM de Groot, but the duo failed to intimidate the bowlers, as the partnership came to an end with only 25 runs on the board, when de Groot, was clean-bowled by A Aitken on a knock of five runs.
On the final delivery of the same over, the bowler struck again by dismissing Hannema on a knock of 12 runs off 18 deliveries.
M Veringmeier and HDJ Siegers were in next, and the duo took hold of the situation for a while, taking the score to 58, before the latter lost her wicket after scoring 11 runs.
ELT de Lange then fell cheaply after scoring a tally of two runs, as she left her side standing on a total of 60.
With SA Minnema at one end, Veringmeier went ballistic as she smashed a resilient half-century off 48 deliveries, to play a dominant role in helping her side reach a total of 115 runs.
From http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756, A Aitken was the ace bowler for taking three wickets in her four overs.
The Scots had a terrible start to their run chase, as half of the batting line-up went back without managing to score in double figures.
Opener, LM Kasperek, was the only success story for Scotland, as she stood tall by belting a handsome knock of 49 runs off 48 deliveries before losing her wicket on a run out.
Scotland mustered a total of 108 runs for the loss of nine wickets, as they lost the match.
