Alexei Kervezee walked out in the middle to join Ryan ten Doeschate and the pair batted sensibly to take their total beyond 50. Just when things started to look good for the Dutch team, Kervezee gave his wicket away after scoring 12 runs off 16 balls.
However, the good news for Holland was that Barresi walked out to bat and constructed a 60 run partnership with ten Doeschate for the fourth wicket. The pair played risk free cricket, but kept the scoreboard ticking.
The wicketkeeper batsman missed out on a half-century, as he was dismissed for 44 from 49 balls in the 21st over. He played well and took his team out of trouble along with the best batsman of Holland.
The Dutch captain Peter Borren came out to bat and played aggressive cricket. Until half way through the innings, ten Doeschate was unbeaten on 49 off 64 balls whereas; Borren was batting on 16 off 12.
Wickets were shared by the Irish bowlers, as Boyd Rankin, Trent Johnston, John Mooney and Paul Stirling took one wicket each for their team.
