2010 World Cup: Netherlands v Slovakia half time report
Netherlands 1 Slovakia 0
A fine goal from the returning Arjen Robben has given the Dutch the advantage at half time in Durban.
Robben – making his first start of this World Cup – raced onto a superb Wesley Sneijder pass, before cutting inside from the right flank and hitting a left footed effort into the bottom corner of Slovakian goalkeeper Jan Mucha’s net.
The goal hasn’t exactly livened up the Dutch though, although Robin van Persie has gone close with three efforts, and Sneijder shot straight at Mucha.
Slovakia have offered little going forward, with early long range efforts from Erik Jendrišek and Marek Hamšik the closest they’ve come to a goal.
