Network Engineers - AM I in Deep Trouble for sending this EMAIL internally in a company?

Hi guys. I hav made a huge mistake. I sent a very personal email to the president of the company I work for. I was saying goodbye. He has never been inappropriate but I simply grew feelings for him, no i am not a gold digger but thats irrelevant, I am 25 and a completel moron. we got an email from the company today that the emails are being misused and should be kept for business only and they were using the chain emails as an example which also happened recently. however, I am afraid someone read this email. we got this warning email from a senior vice president of HR !! I am just curous, do they read every email ? well i am already leaving but I dont want the CEO to get in trouble because of me.

  1. Tell your boss you wanted to check whether or not something has been done to avoid such mails sort of filtering before leaving the company.

    It is not such a grave mistake, even if it happened then human is err and likely to make mistakes.


  2. I doubt anyone reads employee emails, it would be a waste of money to pay someone to do it and it would be a large security risk. Imagine what would happen if competitors got an inside man reading all of your company emails?

    I think there are to likely situations. The first one is that the CEO saw the email and decided it was time for HR to remind everyone of company policy about business emails. The second possibility is that it is a coincidence that they are reminding everyone about company email policy after your incident.

    I highly doubt the CEO will get in any sort of trouble for receiving an inappropriate email from a worker. If a CEO could get in trouble for receiving such emails, it would be all to easy for disgruntled workers to bring down their boss by doing that sort of stuff.

  3. It's doubtful HR is reading the CEO's email, unless they have explicit access to the CEO's email account.  Otherwise the CEO may have told HR to send the email policy email around.

    Bear in mind, your work email account is the companies property .

  4. Do they read every email?  No one but HR can tell you that.

    Can they read every email?  Yes.

  5. Emails are not read , they are just scanned for Attachments.

    Also nothing ever happens even if you send Chain emails,,,,happens everywhere...they just warn you and thats it.

    If they were to read emails , it would open more job profiles for people for the same. Also they would lose time and money .
