Network adapter driver?

when i run the vista advisor test it says my network adapter card needs new driver. theres not a driver for smc1244txv2for vista only xp. when i go to device manager in my computr and try to update driver it says no better match, when i click show me not compatable it lists a lot of drivers,if i download one of them and run the vista test it passes? cant i copy one to floppy and install after i install vista? if the driver passes vista test it should install in vista? or will it not work with my network card? the problem is i cant get internet in vista.

  1. Download it and it should work when you install it. I install XP stuff on my computer and vista runs it.

  2. first: flash drive(cheap today($20))

    second: internet on another computer

    third: google.com  

    search your network driver...  download it onto your flash drive....

    then go to your non compatible computer load your driver(s) just double click and it should take care of it for you....  if you still have problems, its the hardware   which is a big issue with vista

    i would use a mac(and i am), but i guess its not for everyone.


  3. I would download the driver that says it's for Vista regardless of what the test says, burn it to a CD, then try to install it. Get the driver froma friend or someone you know with internet access and a CD burner. If there is more than one driver for Vista like different version #'s, get them all.

    I would recommend getting the driver from the manufactures website.
