I recently bought a new computer and decided to buy a Gigabyte Network card which runs at 1000Mbps but for some reason it isnt. The make of the card is Intel(R) PRO/1000 GT Desktop. If anyone has an idea on how to make it run at 1000Mbps, let me know. Cheers.

  3. Are you using Cat 6 Ethernet? What is your router (if your connected to one) running at? What ever you are connected to has to run at the same speed as that card or you probably won't see the speed you want.

  4. Network card speeds depends on the internet connection speed and network cable. Check the compability with cable and internet connections.

Wrong cables and compability on the computer-might work with the computer.

Cat5e cable is need to have Gbps speed reading on the computer.

  5. There are several considerations to running Gigabit. In addition to having a gigabit network card, you also must have other networking components that support gigabit also.
