Network connection problem, PLEASE HELP!?

i hav had problems with my wireless connection before and i have always just unplugged the power from the router, waited 10 seconds then plugged it back in...well thats not working this time. ive been disconnected from my home network and i dont know how to reconnect. when i hit the button to "connect to a network" is says that it cant find any networks. at first it said that the adapter was not connected... but now its not saying that. i also tried the automatic diagnosis and repair... no luck. please help. i need my laptop for work and sooooooon.

Do you have check your LAN cable?Is it okay? If it's okay, then maybe the problem is in  your router, you can check it by trying to plug it to your friend's computer & if it's okay then it's your computer problem.
