Network controller is not installed?

Hi

I have a gateway GT5032 and I also have a LAN network (high speed) through cable and I tried to restart my computer and now I cannot access the internet even though it says my my connection is avaliable. It keeps saying "the driver for this device is not installed Code28"

Is there something I can do to fix this problem

I'll start off by saying that I'm leary that Windows lost a driver, that usually doesn't happen. I recommend calling that geeky friend everyone seems to have.

To attempt to fix yourself:

1. Find your Windows CD that came with the computer, you may need it.

2. Go to the Start button (bottom left of your screen)

3. Go to Settings: Control Panel

4. Choose Add Hardware

5. Choose Next

6. Hope it finds the hardware

7. Follow prompts to install driver (it'll ask for the Windows CD)
