The former Schalke shot stopper believes that both Dortmund and Schalke are strong contenders to win this season’s Bundesliga, alongside Bayern Munich.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 reckons that reigning champions, Borussia Dortmund, and Schalke could also win this season’s Bundesliga after their impressive shows during the first-half of the campaign.
He feels that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues cannot be left out of the race mainly because they have found good rhythm, and are in better shape since the arrival of their new manager, Huub Stevens.
The goalkeeper stated that Bayern need to perform at their best without underestimating any of their opponents. However, he admitted that the reigning German champions are certainly the toughest title rivals, and no team can afford
to drop points in the remaining course of the season.
Neuer insisted that the Reds will have to be on their toes throughout the remaining competition if they want to secure their 23rd Bundesliga crown, and deprive Dortmund and Schalke from their dreams of securing the top
spot.
While talking to UEFA.com, the 25-year-old further mentioned:
“I think Dortmund are our toughest rivals, but there are other teams that can play a role and Schalke are among them – they also had a great first half of the season. So we need to be alert and shouldn't underestimate any team
in the second part of the campaign. But in the end it's all up to us.”
On the other hand, the German expressed his delight after garnering praise from current Russian Prime Minister, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vladimir-c36322 Putin. He added that Schalke chairman, Clemens Tonnies, had told him that the Russian was against his transfer
to Bayern, but he had to secure his future at some top club where he could be assured of winning silverware on a consistent basis.
The Russian Prime Minister is a loyal supporter of Schalke and has been an admirer of Die Knappen’s former keeper, Manuel Neuer. He was against the transfer of Neuer to Bayern Munich and was unsatisfied with the player’s decision
to join fierce rivals.
“Yes, I knew about it. But Clemens Tonnies or Mr Putin don't live the life of Manuel Neuer. I live my life and I have to take decisions for my life. That's why I took that decision.” Neuer concluded.
Neuer tied knots with the Allianz-Arena outfit in the summer last year, and thus far has had an outstanding debut campaign.
