  1. 4 years of undergrad- some med schools require certian programs while others just require certian courses --usually anatomy, physiology, inorganic chem, organic chem, and biology. You do 4 years of medical school graduate, do an internship.. Then do a residency in neurology. If you want to gain more training do a fellowship, which normally is a specialization training such as child neurology, neurodevelopmental disorders, vascular neurology, etc.

If your in HS take as many biology and chem classes as you can. Volunteer at a hospital or drs office.

http://www.abpn.com/ is the american bd of psychiatry and neurology.

If you dont want to do that, you can become a neurological nurse practitioner. For this, normall you must have a BSN (at least your RN certification). Then you enroll in a nurse practitioner program, some may have a speciality in neurology but never have found one, normally most does family medicine. You do an internship and you take the certification test. Find a job in with a neurologist.

If you want to specialize in child neuro as a nurst pract. then do specializion in peds too. many offers post-masters certifications.

Just call around to local med schools or local schools that has nurse pract schools..
