Neuter a dog? ?

my dog weights 15 lbs a pincher.i'm tired of him and he comes home the next day gone 24 hours! i was wondering if i get him neutered will be a well idea?opinions?

yea that usually keeps them home unless food is the issue . could be someone in the neighborhood is giving him treats

i think that would be a good idea because he wouldn't get so you know crazy about those girl dogs............. another good idea is if he keeps running off keep him on a chain thing in your yard, we did that with my dog until we got a fence up.........another good idea is to fence your yard or something like that

You;re tired of him?   Is that why you let him run lose?

Your problem will likely be solved soon enough because he will either be stolen, killed by another animal, or run over.

You are one sorry excuse for a pet owner.   Keep your dog in a fenced area or on leash when outside.   Walk him - don't let him run lose.   Why did you get a dog in the first place if you don't want to bother with him or keep him safe.

Neutering will help, and he does need to be, but you need to keep him safely inside or onleash outside.

You should be ashamed of yourself - blaming the dog or your negligence.

Absolutely have him neutered!  Do you know how many puppies he has fathered by now?  Why would you let your dog run loose in the first place?  He is in danger of becoming prey to larger animals, being run over by a car, tortured and teased by people, etc.  Consider yourself lucky that nothing has happened to him so far.

Neutering will eliminate a dog's desire to roam in search of a female in heat.   Its important to train your dog also, and not let him run off.

Neutering most likely will stop the wandering.  But depending on how old he is, it may be a habit that won't be cured by neutering alone.  But neutering is the best first step.   It also takes time to get the hormones out of his system after the neuter so it may not resolve the problem right away.  Male dogs are such great pets, after their neutered since their brains aren't cluttered by the hormones!  I love my male dogs--but only after they are "fixed."  Good luck to you.

I think it's a great idea.  Here in the states, 80% of the dogs that get hit and killed by cars are intact males who are roaming looking for a mate.  Neutering them calms them down and makes them less likely to run away.  I suggest it for all dogs because it's healthier for them and it cuts down the number of unwanted puppies being killed every year.

By neutering him You end his "need" for a female. Also You prevent him from getting testicular cancer. All around, You would have a happier dog!

Yeah, take care of that asap. Unless you plan on using him as a stud, it's always a good idea to neuter him, it'll help with their temperaments, trust me!
