Neutral (white) wire connection. Where does the white wire come from off the electric motor on a

Where does the white wire come from off the electric motor on a ceiling fan.The one I have fell off while I was cleaning it and fell far enough to pull the power wire loose. The black wire pulled loose from a wire nut, but the white pulled loose from a solder joint and was inside the tube between the top of the motor and ceiling mount.The problem is the white wire only runs to a wire nut on the bottom side of the fan for light that it doesn't have,I can't seem to find where the white wire was connected to complete the circuit.
