neutralization reaction. If I mix 30mL of

0.2000M NaOH and 50mL of 0.1000M HCl,

  1. NaOH + HCl >> NaCl + H2O

    moles NaOH = 0.030 L x 0.2000 M =0.0060

    Moles HCl = 0.050 L x 0.1000 M = 0.0050 ( limiting reactant)

we will get 0.050 moles of NaCl

  2. volume * concentration * conversion factor = moles

    mL * moles / L * 1 L / 1000 mL = moles

Maybe the moles of Na is not equal to the moles of Cl.  Since there is one atom of Na for every atom of Cl, the one that has the fewest moles will determine how much NaCl you can make.
