Neutralizing pesticide ?

i had my apt sprayed for roaches the building has them in droves but now that the problem has past is there any way to neutralize the pesticide?

what insecticide are you talking about? Inorganic insecticides like boric acid, the effectiveness never goes away.  If they fogged the apartment with pyrethrin the insecticide residual was gone probably 15 minutes after they applied it.  If it was a liquid pyrethroid, depending on what they actually used the effectiveness can last from a few weeks to a few months and they will start to break down as soon as they are applied, but the toxicity of these products are anywhere from 35 to 150 times less toxic than table salt, again depending on what product was used.  Any of the cleaning agents should clean any residue that happens to be left behind.

The poision they use for roaches dose not affect anything but insects.It has been tested and tested so I wouldn't worry about it as long as they had a licensed pest control company do the job.Plus you want it to stay around to make sure they are all dead.

The idea of a pesticide is two fold.

First it has an immediate kill.

Second it has a residual effect so that the pest does not come back.

  But, No pesticide kills 100% so you need the residual effect for insects that were missed.

  If you do anything to neutralize the pesticide then your apartment will be the New Party Palace of the c**k roach world.

   Be aware, in a city, or a multiple family dwelling, the problem of pests NEVER passes for ever.

    Let me suggest one possible solution.

Boric Acid, you put it around all heat register pipes and all water pipes.

Any openings around the wall boards from your apartment to any other .

The bugs cannot cross the boric acid it will kill them .

    The only thing I do not know is how often to re-apply Boric acid to keep it effective.

I don't know but you should drink milk to keep poison from affect you.
