In a Neutron Star, what prevents W bosons to be emitted in the natural process of beta decay?

  1. well i would assume that the W bosons could be created, but i cant be sure. what i can be sure of is that the proton and the electron that would be created by the decay wouldnt make it too far under the massive gravity of the neutron star. the neutron star already has enough mass to perform electron capture on a massive scale, so theres no chance that the proton and electron would escape out into space. most likely a neutron would decay, and electron capture would happen almost instantly.

    and i know! its ridiculous!
