Hi. I'm 23 and I practice abstinence; I don't want a family until I graduate from Grad school and get married. In a moment of weakness, me and my ex-boyfriend had protected s*x on July 3rd (I'm also on birth control). Well, it has been about 47 days (or about 6 wks and 5 days) since we had s*x and I haven't noticed anything unusual until now; I had a period in July (probably around the 12th) and another period on August 7th. My normal cycle is about 29 days and I usually start on Saturday morning...this last period in early August came 2 days early on a Thursday, but was bright red and lasted until Monday. To my knowledge, I haven't noticed any spotting of any kind. I have had lower back aches/pains for the last several weeks, more acne than usual (my face is blemish free most of the time) in the last week or so, and just yesterday I was nauseated, dizzy, shaky, and vomited twice. I took a home pregnancy test after work yesterday and it was negative. I haven't gained any weight, my clothes still fit, breast aren't sore or swollen, not really more tired than usual, areolas are not darker, no cravings, same appetite, and so far I haven't felt sick today. What the heck is going on with my body? Any advice would ge greatly appreciated.

  1. It doesn't sound like you are pregnant.  Sounds like period symptoms are just a bit more severe this time around.  It is possible for hormones to fluctuate, thus causing some of these changes and discomfort you are feeling.

    Good luck!

  2. It doesn't sound like you are pregnant.  Two periods after, it is extremely doubtful.  I might get the bright red bleeding checked out though.  And it sounds like you have the stomach flu or a virus.

  3. The best thing to do is wait a week or two and retest. Only because it doesn't sound like you are pregnant and it could just be your ovulation or period nearing,  approaching, or ending giving you backaches and nausea. Anyhow I would retest because there is sometimes also women who have no idea they are pregnant untill they are about 2months because they never had any symptoms.

  4. your period might not be 29 days excatly everytime. just give it some time. if you don't get it this month see a doctor.

  5. You should see your doctor - I doubt you are pregnant but rather might have a thyroid issue or some other hormonal issue.

  6. Sounds like a period to me. They don't always start on the same day of every month no matter how regular you are. Don't stress. Everything sounds normal.

  7. It's probably just your period, dont worry im pretty sure you arent pregnant. if youre really worried go get checked by a doctor -- thats your best shot.
