  1. I don't think the two things need be exclusive. Some people are private about such matters and do their own thing in their own way.

Moral stances and pro-active attitudes aren't a competition.Nor is something you have to make a big song and dance about like all the 'slebs and their charidee work.Do some people only give a s**t if someone is looking or only care at certain times because they are told to?

It may just be that t same men/women who are currently obsessed about a footy match are like many nurses who will spend a shift watching/nursing someone who is dying and then go home and watch the telly.

My mates brother is the biggest footy head I've ever encountered yet he has done three tours of duty in various war zones risking his life without question every time.

I judge people by their actions not their words. Words are cheap.

  2. yes

  3. Who cares, the only reason that that nation is being attacked, is because it in turn was the first aggressor. What goes around comes around.

  4. Just like the idiots who are glossing over Chinas human rights record just as long as they can watch some Olympics. Where are peoples priorities FFS?

  5. The two are not mutually exclusuive.

A person can enjoy sport and still be concerned about world problems.

    .

  6. i believe they care. sometimes it's hard for them to express their true feelings.

  7. You know.... I couldn't agree with you more...

Not just with soldiers, it's completely insave with teachers as well...

Our soldiers and teachers (the ones whom are protecting our nation and the ones raising up the next generation) are paid in c**p next to people who play a game of baseball, football, racing, etc.

What we really need is a President who can say hey.....  this is wrong, then change it!!!

I never watch sports...  I play them, for fun not money!!

  8. some people simply are immoral and have misplaced values! you are right! it makes me sick that these  idiots can place more value on a game than on human life! god will one day judge them and throw them in h**l!!

  9. People need to remember the men and women over there fighting so they CAN watch a game of football from the comforts of their own home!

  10. If you have guns, planes and bombs, eventually you use them.  Georgia decided to use military force against a breakaway province with a mainly Russian population - after Russia warned they would protect them.  Russia joined in and bombed Georgia.  And surprise surprise, the USA didn't nuke Moscow.

Both Russia and Georgia are signatories to the International Criminal Court.  Their leaders will eventually follow Milosovic and Karadic into the dock.  Unfortunately the USA isn't and Tony Blair has a UN job that gives him diplomatic immunity.

  11. They're not necessarily careless.

Most people who see tragedies that are occurring a great distance from where they are believe that what they're seeing is sad, but they just move on, probably not going to think about it again.

  12. While there are always more important things to care about, it is important for people to engage in recreation if possible.  War is constant, terrible, and bigger than any one person can deal with, so it is natural that most people would prefer to think about football from time to time.

  13. Almost everyone can't see the big picture, ever. That's why people who CAN see the big picture tend to be very, very rich.

I do wonder whether UEFA shouldn't just call the game off as a draw.

  14. How do you know people don't care?

  15. Your question is important and I will answer it....right after I watch the game.

  16. Yep - I guess that sport seems to take over.....

    moving on!
